It's been going on two months since I last blogged I'm ashamed to say. I could say that finals and all really got to me, but honestly it's more been the fact that I haven't been in the mood to just sit down and type. But I have been pretty busy so that has definitely contributed to the lack of updates of any kind. In any case, I successfully completed my first semester back at college with all A's which was super exciting. I honestly don't think I've ever had that good of a semester at college ever.
In addition to successfully passing all my classes, I also passed the test I needed to get into the Veterinary Tech program on my first try. That was a huge shocker for me. I had to get a minimum score in four different
areas (Reading, Math, Science, and English) in addition to also getting a minimum comprehensive score of 60%. The test cost ~$40 to take each time so I really wanted to pass it in two goes at the most. I knew I could nail the Reading and English sections because those have always been super easy for me, but the math and especially the science would be more challenging. Going in and taking the test, I was sure that I had failed it. The science section turned out to be significantly harder than I had expected so I was sure that I hadn't made the minimum score I needed to pass. But when I finished, lo and behold, I had passed with a 78.7% comprehensive score. I will fully admit that I cried when I got back out to my car, I was so happy. I also managed to freak my mom out accidentally when I called her as soon as I got back to my car and I was still crying a bit when she picked up. She, of course, immediately thought something was wrong. Whoops!

Starting A New Blog!
Do you ever have those moments where you're struggling with a decision? Should I do this or shouldn't I? I've been struggling with that for a while now. For several weeks I've slowly been starting to realize how much I need to lose weight and how I really just need to do it. One of the factors that led me to the realization was reading the blog of a young woman I know who has also struggled with her weight for most of her life. Reading her blog as she documents her struggles and successes in losing weight has been a huge encouragement for me and definitely played a large part in my decision to start working to lose weight. My dilemma came in the form of whether I should start my own blog chronicling my weight loss. Seeing what her blog had done for me made me want to do it as well as feeling it would be therapeutic for me and help me face some issues I've avoided talking about or dealing with, not to mention it would help me keep track of my weight loss. There was another part of me that was very reluctant to share something quite so personal. I know I've shared bits and pieces of my struggle with weight and other issues, but I've avoided getting too in depth about anything. In the end, I decided to go for it and so I created a second blog, My Life Out Of The Fat Lane.

Taking a Chance
Anybody who knows me knows that I'm overweight. Okay, actually, I'll
just be honest, I'm fat. And it sucks. But I'm not going to bore you
with a really long sob story or anything, because I'm actually pretty
excited. As of two days ago, I am in the running to be on the Biggest
Loser. My parents and friends think I'm pretty much crazy, but I'm
really excited and pretty darned determined to do this. Remember, I'm
stubborn.
Pre-registration is done, my application is over half filled out, and my mom and I are flying out to Phoenix on the 20th for some much needed girl time as well as for my audition. So this was pretty short, but I just wanted to share because I am so super excited to take advantage of this opportunity!
