It's been going on two months since I last blogged I'm ashamed to say. I could say that finals and all really got to me, but honestly it's more been the fact that I haven't been in the mood to just sit down and type. But I have been pretty busy so that has definitely contributed to the lack of updates of any kind. In any case, I successfully completed my first semester back at college with all A's which was super exciting. I honestly don't think I've ever had that good of a semester at college ever.
In addition to successfully passing all my classes, I also passed the test I needed to get into the Veterinary Tech program on my first try. That was a huge shocker for me. I had to get a minimum score in four different
areas (Reading, Math, Science, and English) in addition to also getting a minimum comprehensive score of 60%. The test cost ~$40 to take each time so I really wanted to pass it in two goes at the most. I knew I could nail the Reading and English sections because those have always been super easy for me, but the math and especially the science would be more challenging. Going in and taking the test, I was sure that I had failed it. The science section turned out to be significantly harder than I had expected so I was sure that I hadn't made the minimum score I needed to pass. But when I finished, lo and behold, I had passed with a 78.7% comprehensive score. I will fully admit that I cried when I got back out to my car, I was so happy. I also managed to freak my mom out accidentally when I called her as soon as I got back to my car and I was still crying a bit when she picked up. She, of course, immediately thought something was wrong. Whoops!
With the test passed that meant I could apply to get into the program starting in the fall. I still had a bio class and lab that I needed to take to actually get into the program, but I could still apply for it and hopefully get in provided I passed those classes before the program started. I find out on Monday, the 30th, if I got in. They choose students via a lottery selection so I have my fingers crossed that fewer people than the program limit applied or that I'm high enough up in the lottery to get in. I really hate waiting...
Like I said, the rest of the semester went really well. I had two weeks off before the summer semester started which was nice. I spent one week chilling out and the following week working almost every day so it was a nice balance.
I am taking classes this summer. I started out with five: Intro to Psych, Basic College Math, Bio for Health Majors, and Computer Concepts and Software Applications. I dropped psych due to the fact that my professor was both vulgar and quite offensive. I had no desire to deal with that all summer. And I passed my math class, which turned out to be self-paced rather than a lecture class, within the first week. I took my final this past Tuesday and passed with a 99%. To be fair, it was an incredibly easy math class, but I'm still glad I took it because it helped refresh my memory of different rules and concepts that I'd forgotten or was a
little shaky on. So now I'm down to three classes which I'm thankful for because 1) it lets me really focus on my bio lecture and lab classes which I need to pass to confirm my entry into the vet program, 2) it gives me more free time which is nice since it's summer, and 3) it gives me time to work on building some new habits.
I've finally gotten to a place where I'm ready to seriously start working to lose weight and be healthier. I signed up for a membership at Defined Fitness this past Sunday and so far I've been taking some classes and really enjoying it. Since I am going to be really working at getting healthier, I decided to revive my long dead blog My Life Out Of The Fat Lane. It was really popular when I had it going previously and I kinda want to document my journey.
And that gets everything up to date! I'm happy and life is good!

Awesome!! It is really inspiring to hear you tackling these goals in life. Not only are you knockin' out classes w/ flying colors, but your hittin' the gym and diving **right back** into school this summer. Rock on, Morgan! That is worth celebrating.
